“Unlike in the United States, some countries require proof of legal capacity to enter into a marriage contract. If it is necessary to obtain this proof overseas, you can execute an affidavit of eligibility to marry at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate. There are also individual requirements, which vary from country to country, e.g., parental consent and blood tests. Before going abroad, check with the Embassy or tourist information bureau of the country where you plan to marry to learn of any specific requirements.”

There is definately something disturbing about that first sentence. Although, it’s nice to know I could find a right-twisted nut-job mental case and get hitched without a problem in the good ol’ U.S. of A. If all else fails, I’m glad I could just go get that ‘affidavit of eligibility’ from a U.S. Embassy to ensure my right to marry a psychopathic woman is upheld no matter where I am.
To completely misuse a quote from (D)Senator Evan Bayh in a recent interview regarding US tactics in Iraq since 9-11, “The level of incompetance is tragic and breathtaking.”
And some people think they have a right to say same-sex marriage is absurd LOL…
*Sorry* Irony… ya know?
